Day-Long Workshop on Basic Life Support Held

Asgar Ali Hospital successfully organized a day-long Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Workshop on 26 July 2026, bringing together healthcare professionals and medical students for an intensive hands-on training session aimed at strengthening lifesaving emergency response skills.

The workshop focused on equipping participants with the essential knowledge and practical techniques required to manage life-threatening emergencies before advanced medical care becomes available. Throughout the day, doctors from various departments of Asgar Ali Hospital actively participated in practical demonstrations and simulation-based training led by experienced instructors.

One of the key highlights of the workshop was comprehensive CPR training for both adult and pediatric patients. Participants learned the correct methods of performing chest compressions, rescue breathing, and the appropriate response during cardiac arrest. The training also covered the recognition and management of airway obstruction, including how to assist a person who is choking using internationally accepted Basic Life Support techniques.

An important part of the workshop emphasized self-rescue techniques for choking emergencies. Participants were taught how an individual can perform self-administered abdominal thrusts and other lifesaving measures when no immediate assistance is available. These practical sessions enhanced participants' confidence in responding effectively to emergency situations both inside and outside healthcare settings.

In addition to the hospital's medical professionals, students from different medical colleges also attended the workshop. Their participation provided valuable exposure to real-world emergency care practices and helped strengthen their clinical skills through interactive demonstrations and hands-on practice using advanced training mannequins and medical simulation equipment.

At the conclusion of the program, all participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the workshop. The certification acknowledged their commitment to improving emergency response capabilities and promoting patient safety.

Asgar Ali Hospital remains committed to advancing healthcare education by organizing regular professional development programs and clinical training initiatives. Workshops such as this Basic Life Support program play a vital role in ensuring that healthcare professionals and future medical practitioners remain prepared to respond confidently and effectively during medical emergencies, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and a safer healthcare environment.
