Physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), also known as physiatry or rehabilitation medicine, aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. Physical medicine is a very advanced discipline in medical science, as it deals with diseases and injuries with many treatment options like drugs, interventions, exercise, different thermal and electrical modalities, manipulation, massage, and the most advanced regenerative medicine like- PRP & Stem cell therapy.
The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in Asgar Ali Hospital is dedicated to musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, sports injury, Orthopaedic and Neuro rehab, cardiopulmonary rehab, Paediatric, and geriatric rehab. This department is led by Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation specialist and Physiotherapists and occupational therapists are providing the physiotherapy service.

• MSK USG (MUSCULOSKELETAL ULTRASOUND): MSK USG is the stethoscope of physiatrist. our specialist is very much efficient for correct diagnosis of muscle and joint disease by using MSK USG
• INTERVENTIONAL PAIN MANAGEMENT: for both acute and chronic pain management, Joint and soft tissue injections is the most advanced treatment worldwide. We are providing all types of intra-articular injection, intra-lesional injection, epidural injection in this department which reduces the necessity of oral pain medicines.
• REGENERATIVE MEDICINE (PRP, stem cell therapy): for degenerative joint disease and injuries, the new hope is PRP and stem cell therapy. We ensure the best quality of PRP and stem cell therapy.
•HYDRODILATTAION – for management of frozen shoulder, we are providing this treatment for quick recovery without surgery.
